Give Synchro a Try

The Austin Angelfish Synchronized Swimming Team

Presents

“Give Synchro a Try!”
A clinic with coaches and athletes of the
Austin Angelfish

If your little mermaid loves to swim and dance or do gymnastics, then this is the perfect sport for her! Synchronized swimming encompasses the grace of a ballerina, the flexibility of a gymnast, the strength of a power lifter and the endurance of a long-distance swimmer.

At our “Give Synchro a Try” clinic, you will learn basic synchronized swimming skills to prepare you for becoming a member of the Austin Angelfish Team. The Austin Angelfish is a competitive synchronized swimming team of girls from all over Austin, between the ages of 7 and 18.

Where: The Town Lake YMCA
When: Sunday, September 11th
Time: 8:30 – 12:15 (please arrive by 8:15)
Show and Tell: 11:30

  • Swimmers must be between 7 – 11 years of age and able to swim standard swim strokes (free, back & breast) for several lengths of the pool and tread water for 2 minutes without tiring.
  • Arrive at the Town Lake YMCA at 8:15.  Be sure to wear a one piece suit and bring a good fitting pair of goggles and 2 beach towels.  We will provide a swim cap and a nose clip and a mid-morning snack.
  • The girls will learn some basic skills and a routine to music. At the end of the clinic, they will put on a water show, so family and friends should arrive back at the Y by 11:30.  We must be out of the pool by 12:00.

The cost is $25 if you register in advance and $35 if you show up at the door.  We will cap the clinic at 40 attendees, so register as soon as possible! If you have any questions or to register, please contact Coach Cheryl Cook at synchrocc@gmail.com.

To register in advance, simply e-mail Cheryl (synchrocc@gmail.com) with the following information: Your swimmer’s name and date of birth, number of years of swim team, dance or gymnastic classes (if any), a parent’s name and phone number and e-mail address. You can pay the $25 that morning.
